How affirmations can improve the way you feel about yourself.
In a society that is constantly promoting negative news, it's easy to find ourselves in a slump. Then you have multiple people in slumps, going through their own negative emotions, expressing them on to you. These slumps make it easier for us to feel emotional turmoil, which in turn causes us to use negative words to speak about ourselves. It's a spiraling effect you probably haven't noticed! And if you have, then you're ahead of the game.
It's not easy to cut out the negative without changing lots of avenues around you. But I have a simple technique to get your started!
Using affirmations is a small way to incorporate positivity into your life. This slowly helps rewire your brain by tricking it into these positive thoughts vs constantly speaking those negative thoughts. For example, if you are constantly saying "I'm sad" everyday, you will most likely continue to feel sad every day. But if you decide to start saying "I'm happy" everyday, even on days that you don't quite feel that happy, you are tricking your brain into thinking it's happy, which translates to you actually feeling happy.
How to use Affirmations in your day to day:
Pick 3-5 affirmations that you connect with the most and write them down on a sheet of paper.
Place this paper on your door, on your nightstand, on your bathroom mirror... somewhere you can visibly see it everyday.
Repeat the affirmations out-loud every morning, evening, or both. With a smile on your face preferred!
Here are a list of some positive affirmations to incorporate in your daily life to increase your self-confidence:
"I have talents and abilities that are totally unique to me."
"I am strong, beautiful, and successful."
"I am filled with energy and power to accomplish anything I put my mind to."
"I am full of happiness & joy."
"My confidence grows stronger by the day."
"Through all my mistakes, I grow with knowledge and experience."
"I'm growing into the best version of myself."
